Dexter Maine Coon & Domestic Medium Hair Mix Katy, TX

Hi there! My name is Dexter, and I'm a gregarious, outgoing, friendly, confident ginger tabby-with-white Maine Coon/ Domestic Medium Hair mix fella with a big fluff of a tail and gorgeous green eyes who was born in May 2012. I love to talk to my humans and to follow them around from room to room in hopes of getting some attention. I adore being brushed, which is just as well because my medium-haired coat needs to be brushed daily so I don't get hairballs.
I'm the life of the party who always greets guests and visits with them later on the sofa. No hiding under the sofa for me! No sirree! And kids are some of my favorite humans because they will play with me and give me attention. I'm very intelligent and have learned a few tricks! I can occupy myself with my favorite toy, any catnip mouse, when no one is around to play with me. Plus I love to watch the birds and squirrels outside the window. It's like kitty TV! I love heights and jumping up to the tops of furniture, so a tall cat tree would be perfect for me.
As you will learn from the attached video that appeared on Animal Planet, we Maine Coon mixes are the 'gentle giants' of the cat world. I'm calm, loyal, as well as loving and will make a great family pet. I'll fit best into a home with children, little dogs, or other friendly cats (particularly my bonded partner Snowflake).
I guess you're wondering why a great, chill fella like me is in need of a new home. I was adopted from Buster's Friends in 2014, but my humans recently moved into a new apartment, and the landlord said they had to get rid of three of their five cats because the limit is two. So they picked the three of us, Snowflake, Playa, and myself, who were most recently adopted and the most adoptable.

Dexter is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted.
