Meet Lila
Lila is a senior girl that has obviously had a terrible life. :( She was found in a box suffering from a life threatening internal infection, completely emaciated, ear infection, punctured eye, and her mouth and teeth fully infected. It was touch and go to start, but she is a fighter! She is feeling her oats now, plays games, barks at the cat :), and loves life.
Her eye is not viable and we will be removing it as soon as she recovers enough from her extensive surgery to withstand another procedure.
It is likely that she spent her life as a puppy producer and had very little in the way of care and attention. Her house training needs some work and she eats like it may the last meal she ever sees. She is skin and bones still and has a coat that a comb over will not hide, but she makes up for all that with an attitude that can not be matched! She is in foster now with other dogs, a cat, and a reasonably busy lifestyle and she is thriving.
If you are interested in learning more about Lila, please email the shelter letting us know a bit about yourself and what you are looking for in a dog and we will email you an adoption application. You can also download the adoption application on our website http://www.fvrd.bc.ca/Services/AnimalControl/Documents/Dog%20Adoption%20Application.pdf
