Breed Estimate: Lab/Hound mix
Gender: Female
Approximate weight: 12 lbs-still growing
Approximate age: 8 weeks old
Location: Foster home
Cratetrained: No
Coat Type: Short–little brushing needed
Amy and her three sisters wound up in a rural high-kill shelter. She is an adorable cutie. Amy is at the perfect age for basic obedience training and bonding with a new person or family. Do you have the time and patience to care for and train an active, playful puppy?
She is coming to the DC area on 6/7/14. This sweet girl would like to find a guardian who will give her lots of love, treats, and playtime. Can you give Amy a loving forever home? She will repay you with puppy sighs and warm kisses. Please apply to adopt Amy today.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many!
Be sure to ask us about getting a free 30-minute phone consult with a professional dog trainer within the first 30 days of adopting - just for HT adopters. Start your new dog out on the right foot with this valuable, expert advice and guidance FREE!

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out information about fostering on our website at http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/pet-foster-forms/.
