Meet Summit
Breed: Border Collie/Lab
Age: 2 Years old
Weight: Approx 50 lbs
Good with dogs: Yes- He has to have another dog in the home with him.
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: Yes!!!!
Energy Level: Medium
Summit was so excited to be out of his kennel that we couldn't get a good picture of him. He was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. We finally caught up with him when he went to take a bathroom break. Not ideal but it was the best we could do. We struggled with his breed. He has the head of a lab, and the beautiful markings of a Swissy. He's not going to be a huge dog. Probably between 50-55 lbs, depending how many biscuits he eats. He's a funny little guy with lot's of personality. Often times we would find him on his elbows, bum in the air, with full-on tail wagging. He wags so hard that his bum sways back and forth! He was very inquisitive about toys and gravitated to them immediately. He will fetch the ball and play with squeaky toys. Most of all, he just enjoyed the freedom of feeling grass underneath his paws. He was very excited to have some stimulation since being in the kennel is very boring. Summit will make a great snuggle. He enjoys being fawned all over like a little prince and will bow his head to keep getting the head rubs.
If you would like to adopt Summit, please contact Corrie at doubledogcorrie@yahoo.com

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
