Meet Odell (TIP)

Odell is the PERFECT buddy - old enough to be done with the puppy nonsense, but still has plenty of go in his gitty-up! Calm, social, and so handsome, this boy makes a great wingman – everybody wants to meet him & he wants to meet everyone. He’s no marathoner, but if you need someone to get you up off the couch, this is the boy for you - a bit of bouncing around at play & a casual walk around the neighborhood is just about right for him. He has loved all the people and dogs he’s met (all sizes, ages, & genders) & ignored the cats. He is currently the only dog (& no cats) in an adults-only foster home, and he’s recovering from heartworm treatment, so he’s not yet had the opportunity to play hard off-leash with kids or dogs, but so far all of his interactions with both have been playful but gentle. His bark is the awesome Hound Sound, but we usually only hear it when one of his doggy friends is leaving & he wants them to come back. Awwww! Odell is learning some basic commands and is SO PROUD to show you his new tricks. He walks well on a loose leash, but is 60 lbs and has a hound’s nose – he can pull if he catches the scent of something! He is housebroken, crate-trained, & an excellent car companion. He likes to snuggle or hang on the porch, but not forever; he’ll eventually wander off to find something interesting to do or chew – he definitely has a nose for curiosities & will happily help you recycle your cardboard by tearing it into smaller pieces! Odell loves to be WITH and would do best in a home where he won’t be left alone all day – he isn’t clingy, he’s just too social to spend all day every day by himself. His foster family adores him and would love to share more details about him!
