Hi, My name is Mac Daddy and I came to Animal Haven very shut down and nervous. I was scooped up by my foster parents and have made HUGE progress! I have separation anxiety, but in just a little over a week I trust that my foster parents are coming back when they leave and I’m not as afraid anymore. I still like when they’re around better, but I don’t panic when they leave. They have discovered my secret that I am almost, if not completely, deaf. Because I can’t hear your praise, I like to be praised with hugs and kisses. Sometimes I get nervous when you leave the room and I can’t hear where you went. I went from being frozen with fear to wagging my tail with my whole body! I absolutely LOVE sleeping in the bed (instead of being closed off in the kitchen) and I love to snuggle on the couch. I am pretty low energy, but my fosters have taken me to central park and I have had fun walking (need to learn to walk better on the leash - but that will come with more practice). I would love to go to a home where my parents work from home like my fosters. I also have a friend here named Sweet Pea and it’s nice to have her when the humans leave so I am never completely alone. I am a loving, sweet boy and I adapt easily. Just give me a little time.
