Grizzly: Adopted! Keeshond Mix Kansas City, KS

Date of birth: 6/2013

6/5/2014: Grizzly is an adorable Keeshond mix. He has a beautiful gray coat and a darling face. He is 11 months old. Grizzly has tons of energy! He's very friendly and he gets along well with other dogs.

Grizzly had been picked up by KCK Animal Control after being hit by a car. They transferred him to us to care for his injury. His left rear leg was fractured and the bone displaced. He had surgery, and he recovered well from that injury. Unfortunately, the poor guy also had to have FHO surgery not long after the other injury healed. Grizzly is doing well and has just recently been given the A-OK to run and play off leash! He's been a good sport through all of this and is ready to have some fun!

Grizzly was in a foster home during part of his recovery. His foster mom said that he can be quite vocal when left alone, so would not be good in an apartment, condo etc. Grizzly has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms.

Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
