Meet Spot (GAPR/TN foster)

Meet Spot!

Spot is a male Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix who is approximately 12 years old and weighs in at 20 lbs. Spot has been in rescue for more ten years. When we got him he was found running loose in a rural area of TN. He was found by a man and his son who brought him to the rescue. He went to adoption events for a while, but back when he was 2-3 years old he was so hyper that the events were a challenge for him. Also someone in his past had hit him with something resembling a broom...because brooms or anything with a handle puts him over the edge. We quit taking him to events but have had little interest over the years from an appropriate home. Now, after all these years Spot has calmed down and is really an awesome dog. He is great on a leash, but he still will run if he gets away from you. He will come back after he visits every smell he can find! He is very treat driven. Spot would be an awesome companion for a mature home where toddlers or small children are not pulling on him or hitting him with something. He still goes nuts if you come close to him with a broom. He would also be great somewhere with fenced land because he loves to run. Spot gets along with other dogs, but we have not tested him with cats. Spot is heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, neutered and micro chipped.

Spot is currently in TN but will be transported to New England for adoption. AAUAR is courtesy listing Spot for Guardian Angels Pet Rescue (GAPR) of Memphis, TN. The adoption donation is $300 which includes a health certificate, and transport north .

Unless stated otherwise, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, on flea/tick product and Heart Worm prevention medicine (if older than 5 months) and micro chipped prior to adoption.

*Please note that while we do our best to accurately state the breed or breed mix of a dog, we often have very limited information to draw from. Identifying the breed without pedigrees and information on heritage can be very challenging!

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please go to www.angelsamongusanimalrescue.org and fill out an online adoption application. Thank you!

Massachusetts Residents: Effective September 28, 2017 a Quarantine Fee of $120 will be required (in addition to the adoption fee) to adopt a dog that has been Quarantined. Massachusetts mandates that all dogs entering MA shall be quarantined for 48 hours in a state approved facility.
