Meet MIA-6-8 month old pup. Found emaciated on street. Sweet & gentle girl!!

MIA! 6-8 month old pup. Ridgeback hound mix. Found roaming, emaciated.
Mia has been eating and putting on weight since she arrived at MAC. We will never know how she got so skinny, but this pup is very sweet and very grateful for the care she is recieving at MAC.
When Mia arrived she was emaciated and scared. It only took her a few days to realize that she was safe and she began to emerge from her shell. She has never been aggressive with anyone or anything. She is shy and unsure at times, but we can only imagine what she has gone through, a lack of confidence in the young girl is to be expected. Mia is also learning to love playing ..she romps in the backyard and enjoys very much the attention from the people. Mia looks like she will be a large dog...she is very pretty and her personality is understated. She clearly has never known a loving home, but is ready to.
This pup is a diamond in the rough. She will be a true stunner when she grows into herself, but we are pretty sure her sweet and loving nature will never change.
MIA CAN BE SPAYED FOR FREE AT HOPE/NUTMEG Clinic in CT with the voucher received at adoption time. FOR MORE INFO: paw364@yahoo.com

Please read our postings carefully!!!! Our Viewing hours are 3:00 to 4:00 pm daily because we have no one in the office during the day and we are on routine patrol .
There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home we must have a letter from your landlord giving permission to have said animal. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets.
Most our dogs are picked up as strays, we do not have a medical history on most and assume many come in without vaccinations. We only treat emergency medical needs, or basic kennel cough and stool treatment. It will be the responsibility of the new owner to have the dog vaccinated and vet checked.
All our unaltered canines are adopted out with APCP Certificates. A Connecticut resident must pay a $50.00 fee ($45.00 goes to APCP, $5.00 to municipality) at the time of adoption, which entitles the adopter to a vaccination/sterilization voucher good for sixty days. The voucher provides a one-time sterilization fee of $100.00 for a male dog, and $120.00 for a female dog plus two pre-surgical vaccinations coincident with sterilization.
Nonresidents may adopt a pound pet for the $5.00 municipal fee, but are not eligible for program benefits. Pets too young or sick are granted a medical extension by the veterinarian; however, all young animals must be sterilized by six months of age.
If you are interested in adoption please call our office at 203-235-4179 or send us an email to paw364@yahoo.com.
