Meet Max
Max is an 10 year old Cairn Terrier/Yorkie mix who weighs 25 lbs and was an owner surrender. Max is a sweet dog who gives as much love and attention as he would like to receive. He was very friendly with family members right from the beginning, showing very little anxiety about being in a new home.
Max has chronic dry eyes, he will need ointment daily and has been prescribed Optimmune Ointment to use for them. Max has a history of Pancreatitis, but is not showing symptoms at this time. Pancreatitis is typically an acute problem, and once it has been treated generally does not require further treatment. He could however get pancreatitis again, if fed high fat human food.
He varies between snuggling and stretching out on the couch but one thing he doesn’t like is being alone. He will do much better with a family that will allow him to be around people including at night.
Max is house trained and will ask to be let out. That includes in the middle of the night so be diligent about letting him out right before bedtime. We are told by the surrender family that Max does not give you a long warning, so if he asks to go out, let him out.
Of course there may be plenty of times he will just want out to get lost in the backyard exploring. Have a good fence; we are told Max will take himself for walks if given the chance (we have not experienced that ourselves in this -20F weather!).
Max can be adopted for $300.
- You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website.
- Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philosophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, it must be charged.
- Please note that we do not have a shelter, and all dogs are in foster homes. Since we strive to provide the best possible care for our animals, sometimes we cannot answer emails promptly. Please allow 48 hours for us to respond to you.
- You must be 18 years of age to make an adoption request.
