Meet Brooklyn

Brooklyn was seized from a home with his housemates George and Baby. He was found bloody and battered from a stab wound to his head when NYACC rescued him. Brooklyn and his housemates were put on a cruelty hold and remained in the shelter for a full 2 months. Once the hold was up these pups, that had endured hell on earth, were put on the euthanasia list and were scheduled to be put down. After all they had endured in their home, the 2 months on cruelty hold and now a death sentence, this seemed to be more than enough to break any pup but not these guys and PMAR rescued them all in the spirit of Christmas!

Sadly, even with so many following, sharing and pulling for these pooches only one person actually applied to foster to adopt Brooklyn. The applicant was approved, but as luck would have, it poor Brooklyn isn't a match for that particular home. You see Brooklyn was stabbed, so he is understandably fearful and in the past there was a thought it was gender specific (men), however it has been discovered that Brooklyn
generally loves all people. In fact, he is currently being fostered and just loves his foster daddy! He has shown a lot of love to everyone he has encountered at his foster home (male/female alike, including an 8 year old) but in order to ensure that his trust continues to grow, he needs extreme patience, love and understanding with the right family. As we are focusing on helping Brooklyn overcome the significant emotional scars from the torment he had to endure and the cruel stabbing he suffered, we are specifically working on his trust and confidence for all people. Although he does do well in meeting other dogs with supervision, we are focusing on finding him a home where he is the only dog and no kitties. Due to his size, any kids should be older (8+) simply because he has so much love to give and could easily knock a small child over with all his love! He is doing well in his foster home, but he DESERVES a furever home! His new family has to provide him love, companionship and a home where he will feel safe and protected and
appreciated for the wonderful cuddle bug he truly is. When you look at his face, is that really too much to ask for?

Brooklyn is a great listener and easily trainable, obedient, loving, sweet and not to mention stunningly handsome! What more could you ask for? How about a dog that LOVES belly rubs!
