Sissy Pit Bull Terrier Salem, MO

Sissy was brought in by animal control stating the owner gave her up because she was aggressive to other dogs. The many healed scars on her head made her look more attacked than attacking. Behavior in the shelter has been very good and it is believed any aggression was defending herself. If there was abuse by other dogs or owner she could be on guard against this in some situations. However, information later surfaced from AC that the real reason was because the owner didn’t want to pay the money required by the city ordinance. Sissy is a nice girl and needs a second chance at life. She apparently was used for breeding and scarring indicated there had been Cesarian section at some time; she had not been spayed. Placement will be difficult due to her breed and history, but if right prevails she will find any understanding home and not be discarded or mistreated again. Other than some food aggression, she is pretty much perfect. She can be with other dogs as long she they are fed separately. Sissy likes toys and is very playful. She is good with children. Sissy was adopted and very happy for several months, then she bolted and got lost when there were fireworks. The owner did not come get her back. She very much wants a home where she is safe and loved.. Born about 11/16/11
