Briggs English Pointer & Pointer Mix Houston, TX

Briggs is currently in boarding because Pup Squad does not have enough foster homes right now. We would love for him to find her FURever home but a foster home would be great too!

Briggs is a beautiful lean athletic pointer mix. Although he is a mix, his traits and characteristics are very typical of the English pointer.

Briggs is a smart dog who is very responsive to his handler’s approval. Positive reinforcement is a great motivator for Briggs, as he loves to please. (He gets nervous and shy with negative reinforcement or harsh tones.) In the past few months, Briggs has learned to sit and stay until released, and to wait for his food (even if you put his treat right in front of him) until you say it’s time to eat! Briggs loves his kennel and sleeps in it every night. Sometimes, he shares the kennel with the other dogs so they can cuddle until morning.

Briggs’ favorite activities are playing with toys and hunting squirrels in the back yard. Briggs would love a daily jog or someone to take him on outdoor adventures. He is working hard on being good on the leash – there are just so many exciting things outside, he can barely contain himself! Inside the house, Briggs is extraordinarily calm and likes to sit quietly by your feet. He doesn’t even budge when the kitties come up to sniff him!

Briggs is a great big darling who loves to rub up against your legs and have you lean over and cuddle him. He also often rolls on his back and wriggles around when he wants a belly rub!

He is 2 years old, up to date on all shots, and heartworm negative.

Our adoption fee is a $150 donation to Pup Squad Animal Rescue. Our adopted dogs are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
