Meet Madison-DNA tested

You can meet Madison at Petco Saturday from 1:30-5:30 located at 4001 W. Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington Texas

Hi, I'm MADISON (but you can call me Maddie or Sunny, as long as you also call me YOURS).

I'm an American Staffordshire Terrier / Pyrenean Shepherd mix (and I have the DNA test to prove it), which means my love of playing 'fetch' was literally bred into me. I love to run and jump up into the air to catch a ball, and most of the time, I'm happy to give it back to you to throw again. My foster-family says I'd be awesome at flyball. Well, I jump so high it's like flying, and it's a word that has 'ball' in it, so they're probably right.

When I'm not playing fetch, I love to cuddle on the couch while you're watching TV or reading. Give me a bone to gnaw (I'm fond of those rawhide 'retriever rolls' even though I'm not a retriever), and I'll lie at your feet with it 'til it's gone.

AmStaff's are often used as watchdogs, which is great for me because I love to watch things. Specifically, I like to watch squirrels, and consider it my special task to prevent the Squirrel Invasion. Those floofy-tailed monsters won't come near you when I'm on alert. Despite my constant vigilance, I don't really bark a lot, though, so you don't have to worry about me annoying the neighbors.

At almost three years old and about 60 pounds, I'm still incredibly active and playful, but I’ve long since grown out of all those annoying puppy habits people often worry about. I'm crate trained, but I also have excellent house manners. I'm very clean, I'm already spayed, I've got a microchip (which my foster-mom insists is a tracking device and NOT a kind of food) and I'm up-to-date on all my shots.

I'd prefer to be your only dog – let's face it: this much awesome should NOT have to compete for your attention – but if you have a male dog already, I'll probably get along fine with him. I'm kind of a diva though, so no other female dogs, please, and I'm not a fan of cats (What? You're not supposed to chase them??) either.

KIDS on the other hand make me happy…I look forward to teaching them how to play fetch.

I'm told that my breeds are known for being owner-oriented, incredibly loyal, and kind of stoic (I think that means calm). If you've seen me at adoptions, you probably know I don't 'show' well when I'm crated. I promise, I'm a completely different dog if you take me OUT of my crate, so please don't be shy.

I've been with my foster-family for over a year, and I love them, and they love me, but I'd really love it even more if I had a forever family of my VERY OWN.

Her adoption includes all vaccinations, worming, rabies vaccination, spay, heartworm neg, microchip including registration.
