Meet Grover

GROVER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

HERE'S WHAT HIS ADOPTERS HAVE TO SAY:

I just wanted to give you a very happy update on Grover. As you might recall, we were having some pretty bad problems with him marking the dining room every day. For months we struggled with it, trying to calm his separation anxiety with everything we could think of. We bought a tarp, he simply peed in a new spot. We tried everything!

For months we also struggled with the idea of crating him, since he is such an active dog. Well, about three weeks ago we broke down and bought a crate. I am so happy to report that Grover LOVES his crate! In fact, I believe that he needed his crate as some sort of structure and boundary. He stays in it when we are at work, and doesn't even whine when we get home after a long day to let him out. He goes in it without any prodding in the morning, and it's set up so that he can look out the window for his daily neighborhood watch, which is what he would be doing anyway!!

He doesn't sleep in it at night, as you will see from the above pictures of him sleeping on the bed.
We could not be happier with him-- he was always a great dog, and the only problem with him has been easily solved!! I think this should be a lesson to other adopters that sometimes a crate is just what a dog wants-- and it's really not inhumane at all!

Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to adopt him.

Grover's Original Petfinder Listing

Grover, 3 years old, 30 pounds, Boston Terrier/Jindo mix

If we didn't know better, we'd swear Grover was campaigning for office -- he doesn't ever make a false move! He was found as a stray but has superb manners. He is perfectly house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside. He knows all the basic commands - sit, stay, down, come. He’ll lie by your feet while watching TV, but wouldn’t dream of jumping on the furniture.

Grover is not crate trained, but he doesn’t need to be. He is calm and quiet inside the house and can be trusted in the house alone without chewing or destroying anything.

In the looks department, he's no slouch, either: Grover is cute, camera-friendly and has a beautiful coat. His combination of breeds is both familiar (and thus comforting) and unique (singling him out from the crowd of other dogs). He also has what so many other contenders for office lack: sincerity. When he his pleading brown eyes on meet yours, you can trust right away that Grover he is completely sincere about his affection for you, and that his only desire is to make you happy.

Our little candidate is also athletic, agile and strong for his size. As a result, he needs a little work on a leash. However -- he's a fast learner -- he tends to pull at first, but once you have walked about 50 yards, he steps into your pace.

Grover seems to be always seeking to increase his constituency -- he is very good with other dogs…big or little, male or female. Some more mild-mannered dogs might find that Grover comes on a bit too strong -- he enjoys lively play. His voting record on cats, however, is unknown -- we haven't seen him with any.

The private Grover, once the cameras are shut off, is even better than the public one. Don't believe us? Here's what his friends say:

Grover is "a very loveable, adorable guy who has a big heart and would stay by your side all day long if you let him."(longtime friend)
"He’s quiet and likes to sleep in if you do." (unnamed source)
"He’s a very happy, trusting pooch despite being on his own for a little while." (campaign manager, AKA his foster mom)

The bottom line: Grover is an all around fabulous dog and would be a great dog for just about any household.
