Meet Sonny-URGENT!!!
SONNY WAS MOVED TO ANOTHER RESCUE ON THURSDAY JULY 25, 2013
SONNY IS IN URGENT STATUS AND MUST FIND HIS FOREVER HOME BY WEDNESDAY JUNE 26, 2013Â OR HE COULD FACE EUTHANIZATION. Â SONNY WAS RECENTLY PICKED UP AS A STRAY IN JONES COUNTY. JONES COUNTY DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. ALL DOGS ARE HELD FOR 7 DAYS. AFTER HIS HOLD TIME, SONNY MUST HAVE A FOREVER HOME, RESCUE OR FOSTER HOME TO GO TO. ALL OF AWF'S FOSTER HOMES ARE FULL!!
Happy little Sonny is AWF’s newest Urgent dog who needs help. He was rescued by AWF, and now needs a forever home or a foster home. Sonny is about 2 years old, and AWF thinks he’s a Heeler mix. Since he is a stray, our knowledge of him is limited, so if you have other dogs or children in the household, AWF requires that everyone come to meet him. As always, AWF does not know how Sonny would be with a cat, and we have no way to test how he would react to one. If you are interested in rescuing, fostering or adopting Sonny, please IMMEDIATELY contact us at wesavepets@netins.net or (319) 462-5683.
The first step to AWF's adoption process is to fill out an Adoption Application. To download our adoption application, please click here.
Sonny's adoption fee is on a sliding scale of $175 to $250. You decide the amount that is right for you to give. The fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lymes test, heartworm and flea preventative, testing and treatment for a variety of intestinal parasites and vaccinations. We have an all-volunteer staff, which means your entire fee goes towards helping homeless animals.
No adoptions outside of an approx. 50-mile radius of Jones County/Cedar Rapids/Iowa City/Waterloo. In some instances, we are able to make an adoption outside of the radius work (but this varies on a case by case basis and may depend on where you live). The limited radius is due to a mandatory home visit needing to be done at the adoptive home by a rescue volunteer.
Breed Disclosure: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we cannot guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.
