Beautifully sleek in her shiny black coat, Madison is a 2.5 year-old female Pit Bull Terrier.   Perfectly housetrained and weighing 61 pounds, Madison is a high energy, goofy girl who loves to romp with people and other dogs. She loves being the center of the universe!   Madison is a smart sweet dog who would do best in a household that will provide exercise and mental challenges for her, as well as couch-potato opportunities that include hugs and cuddling.  She is highly intelligent and has easily learned tricks such as sit, down, roll, shake, etc.
Madison's guardian would be kind but always consistent, showing her correct behavior through positive training methods.
Madison is a beautiful dog who needs a home to call her very own.  Can you provide that home?  You must have prior dog experience and a strong desire to help this smart and able dog.  Madison is just fine with any size dog as long as she is the dominant party and she loves to attend community events and her local Petsmart store.  She is also fine with adults and older children.  As to cats, she chases those who will play the game and ignores the others, except when outdoors.  Madison can easily scale a six-foot chain-link fence.  She walks well on a lead and does best with a good quality harness such as the Easy Walk.  Please contact us to meet Madison, or visit her on Sunday at Petsmart.We do local adoptions only, less than one hour from our central New Jersey location. If you are planning a vacation in the near future, please do not apply to adopt until after you return from your trip. Our dogs must be spayed or neutered as a part of their adoption. They receive age-appropriate shots and worming, flea/tick preventative, and any other medical treatments that they require. Dogs over the age of eight months are tested for heartworm and Lyme disease. Negative dogs receive heartworm preventative; positive dogs are medically treated prior to adoption.
