Meet CYPRESS

Cute little 6.9# Cypress initially came to Dr. Jen back in December of 2007 as a shy and subdued stray from the Heritage Hill area. She was so timid in fact that it took almost a full year for her to blossom and come out of her shell, and it wasn't until April of 2010 that she finally landed herself a home with a very nice couple.

However, unbeknownst to us, she started exhibiting behavioral elimination issues right after she was adopted. From the medical records Dr. Jen received, it looked like a 60 day trial of anti-anxiety medication was tried back in 2010, but nothing after that. After a move to a new house upset her even further, her urination issues resumed.

Although we totally understand not being able to tolerate a cat with litter box avoidance issues, there is SO much that can be done to try and ease the anxiety associated with the box in the form of behavior modification, medical intervention and environmental enrichment. So, in 2013, we were happy to take Cypress back into our fold and further delve into her psychological issues (urine tests and x-rays were completely normal) in the hopes that we could cure what bothered her and get her back on the right track...and in the box again!

Cypress was born in December of 2005, so she is approaching senior citizen status. Older cats without hang-ups can be difficult to place, but we are confident that with time, care and attention paid to her needs, we will be successful in finding this demure, dainty little doll a home once again.

UPDATE 2014: Cypress is not exhibiting any inappropriate elimination issues at Crash's. She would love another try at a home of her own. She is such a sweet girl and we believe with a patient household willing to let her adjust to a new environment, she will do well in a home of her own.

Update 1-1-167: Our girl was fortunate enough to land herself a home last summer and she was Little Miss Manners! however, her mom passed away this winter and we took Cypress back in to our furry fold; even though she isn't upset to be back, we want nothing more than to see our sweet senior citizen spend her golden years in the warmth and comfort of a real home once again. So if you think you may have it in your heart to open up your home to our darling old dame, please let us know!

Thanks for taking time to find out more about our Crash Cats!!
