Kongo American Bulldog New Orleans, LA

Kongo came to ARNO as a month very young dog. He was seen by an ARNO volunteer tethered in the backyard day and night. ARNO worked with the owner on getting him off the tether, but the wife was pregnant and uncomfortable having him in the home. At one point, the dog was locked in a shed. The owner finally decided it was best to give him a opportunity at finding a home and surrendered him to ARNO. Due to the stress he was in, he had horrible skin issues when he came to us.

Kongo is now a healthy, 110 lbs of pure goofiness and fun. He has these sad puppy dog eyes but always has a smile on his face. He goes out on day trips with one of our dedicated volunteers. He is not reactive and enjoys playing with other dogs. He loves his car rides where he will stick his head out the window and just enjoy the ride! Kongo loves to play and run, so a strong handler would be good for him because of his size. He is very intelligent and knows basic commands, but does need to refine his training. He is treat motivated and listens well to direction.
