Meet Hunter

Meet Hunter!  He is a 7 month old yellow Labrador puppy that weighs 40 pounds.  He will be a medium to large sized dog when he is grown.

Hunter is a typical goofy Lab puppy and is about as precious as they come.  His foster mom is working on his house-training, crate-training, and general puppy obedience.  Hunter loves everyone including other dogs and kids. He is a wiggly lab so will do best in a home with older children.

Hunter is a smart boy who will need an experienced family that is willing and able to put the effort into training him.  Labs are very energetic and he will need an active family to keep his mind and body busy. While Hunter likes to play outside, he is an indoor dog.  He will make a great pal for someone special!

Hunter's adoption donation is $150 which includes his up to date vaccinations, microchip, deworming, and flea and tick prevention.  If you are interested in adopting Hunter, please review the information below!

Dog Adoption Guidelines:

You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. You can fill out an application at www.forthepets.org/adoption.htm or email to humanesociety@murray-ky.net for an application.

It is not a "first come" process; we try to "match" the dog with the family for a FOREVER home. We process all applications at once and take the dog off the site, place on adoption pending status until a decision is made. If a suitable home is not found, the dog returns to active status.

The dog adoption process can take about two weeks; we are a small group of volunteers who have full time jobs.

We do not fly or ship our dogs due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the dog back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.

If you apply to adopt a dog and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the dog and fill out the paperwork in person.

We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport.

We can't provide individual "meet and greet" sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have time to visit with the dog before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.
