Tango Boxer Olympia, WA

Tango is a 2 year old male who is full of life. His history is brief before he came here - He was found in Mabton, WA as a stray. The Central WA Humane Society asked Yakima Valley Pet Rescue to take him because they thought he was hit by a car. YVPR took him in the day after he was found but had nowhere for him to go. Further inspection showed skin irritation between his thigh and scrotum and he was pulling his leg away for relief. We think maybe he was exaggerating to get out of the shelter, he has no indication of being hit by a car. He has done well with other dogs. He is not very dominant but does know how to let a dog know if they are bothering him. He wiggles a lot and really likes human attention. He's learning what it means to live inside a home and is catching on pretty quickly however, he does not like to be crated at all. 


From his foster family: Tango aka Tango-Bango-Boo is quite possibly the calmest teenaged male boxer we've seen. Lily, our three year old, asked Daddy today why Tango can't bark. He doesn't even bark when the doorbell rings. Tuesday, his first day with us he sat happily in my office while the cleaning service ran the Vacuum cleaner. He knows his name, he is okay with 'leave-it', walks at heel naturally but other than that has no other words/commands in his vocabulary. He is so incredibly attentive, we are hoping that his attentiveness will carry over once he starts training. He is a great dog and a pleasure to have in the house.
