Update from Julia 2/24: He is a new dog! Happy and sweet, good with all dogs and cats.  Need to upload new photos.


Update from Julia 1/4: Very old boy. Very sweet. Very skinny. Only weighs 15lbs and he should be in the 25lb range. Cataracts and seriously overloaded with worms. Had a bath and deworm and frontline and ears cleaned and treated. He hated the bath but felt so nice after. No surgery until he is stronger. I do so love senior beagles!  He will be neutered 1/15.


Bio: Owner turn in 1/2/13.  This skinny old guy weighs just 15#.  He got a rabies vaccination and tested heartworm negative 1/3/13.  Dewormed for whips, hooks and tape worms.  Estimated age is 13+


He undoubtedly led a pretty miserable life and needs a comfy home to spend the rest of his years.  


Another beagle named Joe who is only about a year old, was turned in with him to Pound.

Dogs in the Rowan County K-9 Shelter receive their first dhppl vaccination (parvo/distemper) upon arrival at the pound. Rabies vaccine and spay/neuter surgery can be done for the $50 adoption fee. Please note rabies vaccine and surgeries are NOT done on site and dogs must be adopted before they receive rabies vaccine or surgery. We currently do not have the ability to cat test the pound dogs.
