Meet Oliver aka Ollie - ADOPTED!

5-31-2015: At long last, Oliver is enjoying life as a member of a family and is doing well.
7-1-2014 UPDATE: Sometimes a placement doesn't work out, for a variety of reasons, and Ollie's trial run was one of those. As a result, we feel that Oliver would do best in a home in which someone is home most of the time and, depending on any resident dogs, it may be that Oliver will do best with other male dogs. Oliver is not interested in being an outside dog, nor in staying outdoors for long periods of time unless his people are there too, and he absolutely requires a fenced-in yard. Applicants who are interested in Oliver will be considered within a 150-mile radius of St. Louis.

A big THANKS to Jeanette W. for sponsoring Oliver in memory of her dear corgis, Sam and Frodo.

Extra special thanks to Oliver's new sponsor, Charles J., for all his help and caring for his new buddy, Ollie.

Summer 2013:  Oliver aka "Olliebaabaa", at 9 years of age, continues to be an affectionate, funny, endearing "teddy bear" of a dog, who loves belly rubs, bounding out to the back yard to chase whatever everyone else is barking, tend to business and then get back inside with his people.  He's a healthy boy with a bit of a sensitive tummy, mostly because he loves to find things in the yard to see if they're edible.  He's also very good to "drop it!" when told to, though.  He's not big on toys, but loves to chew on nylabones and hang out with his folks and fellow canine housemates.  He gets along well with his three corgi foster siblings, and would probably prefer to have at least one canine buddy in a new forever home.  Oliver will require a fenced yard and would love to be in a home where the family is around most of the time.  He sleeps in his crate nicely but is not impressed with being there during the day, though he will do as his foster family asks for a reasonable amount of time.  Oliver is housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative as well as a daily glucosamine supplement and is up to date on his vaccinations.  Adoption Fee for Oliver is $275.
UPDATE 11-09-12:  Oliver, whose nickname has become "OllieBear",  has shown himself to be a really wonderful fellow with a great disposition who will be happy to be someone's cuddle dog as well as playmate.  He loves people, bellyrubs, treats, being petted, running outside in the very large fenced yard and just about everything else he is faced with. He gets along well with his three corgi housemates, male and female, and has become wrestle-buddies with one in particular, but nothing rough.  While Oliver wasn't too sure about what to do with toys at first, he is quickly discovering the joys of all of them, bones and stuffed ones alike.  It's great fun for him to pick one from the toybox and play with for a bit, then go choose another, but he's not at all protective of them.  He has a great corgi appetite but isn't bothered by foster mom or dad touching his bowl or him while he eats.  Oliver has recently met a few kitties and seemed intimidated by them, but he is as yet not cat-tested.  Oliver does well in his crate, sleeping there at night and is crated with no complaints when the family is away for a time.  When Oliver came into fostercare, we were told he was an outside dog.  He must be one smart fella, because within a few days of wearing a bellyband and having a regular schedule, he was doing fine in the house.  He has completely recovered from his neuter surgery and his dental to clean up his lovely teeth and he is heartworm negative and up to date on all his vaccines.  Oliver's holiday wishlist has his very own forever home at the top of his list!  *******************************************************************
10-09-12 Please check back for more info on handsome, sweet Oliver who has just come into our program. As we get to know Oliver and address his needs we will update his bio. What we already know is that he is an easy going fella who is around 9 years of age. Oliver is settling in nicely with the three other corgis in his foster home. What a good boy!
