Faith Labrador Retriever & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Normal, IL

Faith is a one year old, 51 pound, female Labrador Retriever/ American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was found on a rural road, huddled over the body of her dog friend, who had been hit by a car days earlier. What a loyal, FAITHful friend! She is an extremely sweet dog who gets along well with everyone she meets. She likely lived as an outdoor dog before getting picked up as a stray, so is ready to learn all the comforts and responsibilities of living inside. Her foster family told us this: "Faith is super affectionate!! She want to love on and be loved by everyone! She is young and very inquisitive about your every move. She is also doing well with house-training, but isn't quite there yet- we let her outside frequently and that is doing the trick. Faith has been great walking/jogging on a leash, walking next to or slightly behind us. She is more excited by other humans than dogs. She does thrive on attention though- she is not happy when we leave the house and put her in the crate (30 minutes later she was still barking), but she tolerates the crate at night, ONLY if it is in our bedroom, next to the bed, where she can see us. Faith is food motivated and will likely be easy to train, plus she listens well. She also enjoys chewing on bones. She is happy just being around people. I don't think she would do well crated for hours at a time - but daycare might be a fine alternative. I think she deserves a family that will give her lots of love, affection, and attention! She would do well with basic obedience training. She was anxious and had a hard time settling down for the first couple days we had her, but she adjusted well and has calmed down quite a bit. She is just a sweetheart!" Her minimum adoption donation is $195.

Faithhas been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea /tick and heartworm preventatives.
