Meet Rusty (been at CCHS 8 months)

Rusty was brought into the shelter July 6, 2012 by animal control. He was picked up in Beaufort and someone has to be missing him. Would guess that he is around 2  years old and weighs around 45 pounds. He is such a handsome and loving boy and seems like has had some training.  He knows how to sit and shake on command.  He walks well on the leash once he releases his pinned up energy. Since he was a stray we do not know any of his past history however I can say he is well behaved, keeps the inside of his runner clean probably house broken, and he loves spending time with his human friends. He thinks he is a lap dog. Rusty is a very loving and personable dog.  One of the best, for sure. Rusty is a favorite among the volunteers who come out and walk the dogs and socialize them,  He is so sweet and will lay down and go to sleep in the middle of the  Petsmart parking lot when somebody is rubbing his belly. Come to the shelter and visit with Rusty and provide him with the opportunity at a great life that he deserves and needs. Make sure you speak with the manager and get the information and paper work that will need to be filled and completed prior possibly adopting Rusty. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure our "bully breeds" go to homes best suited for them. He seems ok with calm and laid back non alpha dogs. If you have a pet and are interested in meeting any of our pups please bring in your pet to meet their potential brother or sister on neutral ground before adopting.  Give Rusty a chance at a great life that he deserves and needs.

Being a responsible pet owner requires patience and time on your part as their owner and can be expensive so please make sure you are 100% ready for a new family member before adopting. Please make sure to keep your pets on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated so please make sure to care for their health and well being. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5 and Sat. 10-2. For the spring and summer the shelter is open on Sunday from 11-3.
