Meet Buster Brown UPDATE

If you are looking for a good dog with personality to spare, look no further – I’m your guy! My name is Buster Brown, and I'm a 6yr old male Boston Terrier.

Some of you may have read my earlier bio; thanks for checking back 'cause I have some news to share.

With dedication and hard work – on both our parts – and within a community that has supported my efforts in learning positive social skills – my foster mom is so proud to report that I have come a long way, baby! I graduated from obedience school with a score of 199 /200 for which I received an award. I listen to my commands (sit, down stay, come, stand, up, off, out, etc.) and my recall is good too. I stay out of the kitchen and bathroom and off beds, if that’s important to you where we might live together.

I am good both on leash and off. A fully housetrained gentleman, I can be left alone at home, without any concern. I behave at the vet’s, enjoy going for drives, walks, to the park, on errands, gardening, farmer’s market, neighborhood events, nature trails, lake – well, I enjoy pretty much everywhere it’s cool for you and your dog to be together. I'm sociable and love people of all ages. They, in turn, love me.

Makes me blush to bark this but everyone who meets me describes me as smart, physically fit and cute. I do like to take care of myself, so I stick to my healthy dry dog food diet with occasional dogs treats. Have to maintain my 29 lbs. I do not beg for table scraps. Bathing me is no problem and I don’t mind having my teeth and nails done. A fellow has got to keep looking his best, right?

For those of you just meeting me, I had a tough start in life, born and raised amongst angry and aggressive dogs. Luckily some caring people rescued me, and eventually were able to teach me that other dogs can actually be okay, and that I need not react in fear because my human will keep me safe. Boy, it was tough going for awhile, but I finally got the message! I have learned to meet, mix and play with other dogs and it feels dog-on great.

Presently, I live alone with my dedicated foster mom. We make a cool team, so truth be told, my preference is to live with a mature male or female or maybe a couple, as an only dog or with an older, easy going canine friend.

Now, this is the VERY important part. In order to succeed in my new home, as I have in my foster home, I need a new person(s) who is an experienced dog owner, calm, patient and assertive. Patient because I will need time to adjust to my new surroundings and routine. You must be able to offer me the proper guidance, and let me know what I am supposed to do, when I occasionally get triggered (e.g., dogs running alongside a cyclist or runner and young high energy or aggressive dogs). If you can show me proper leadership and promise to set clear and consistent expectations for how I should behave, I will trust our relationship and aim to please. If you are top dog, this dog will be your best companion ever!

I am a great combination of a loving, loyal and playful spirit, and am certainly deserving of a forever home. Take me home with you and you will be very happy that we have finally found each other.

With Loving Licks, Buster
