Bjiou is a sweet and sensitive girl who longs for a forever home where she'll be the only kitty. She is affectionate and well-behaved but she keeps to herself and sometimes appears standoff'ish, but this is only because she doesn't care for her roommates. She's not an attention seeker so you'll need to go looking for her when you come to visit, but we guarantee your efforts will be rewarded with an appreciative gaze and soft purrrrrr. Bijou has bright, beautiful eyes and a soft, luxurious coat that you'll want to pet for hours on end. She has good manners so will kindly let you know with a flick of her tail when she's had enough.

Our sweet Bijou came to Katie's Place as a shelter transfer - it seems she had originally been found as a stray in 2005 when she was about 1 yr old and then bounced around between a few homes before finding her way to Katie's. These other homes already had either cats or dogs and she learned along the way that she'd rather not live with either. If Bijou had had the good fortune to land in a home on her own we suspect she would have settled in well and never wound up at Katie's. But here she is, with lots of volunteers to love and care for her, but it doesn't take the place of a real home. Bijou would be lovely companion in a quiet home where she could relax and finally feel at peace knowing she isn't going to be moved again.

This little girl with the big heart would really blossom with the affection of her very own person and would gladly keep you company no matter what you're up to. She is chatty, she'll greet you at the door when you come home, she's curious and very affectionate with the people she loves. Bijou is around 12 years old and has been in the shelter system for 11 years - almost her entire life!!! This sweet girl really deserves a loving forever home that she can finally call her own - she will thank you with endless love and kisses for the rest of her days and given that she should have many more years this means you will be showered with endless love.
