A good natured and mellow boy, Rocky is looking to kick back and spend his golden years basking in the loving embrace of his forever home. Don't let his age fool you as he is one rockin' senior! Rocky, wanna go for a walk? Oh Boy!! Rocky wanna go for a ride? Oh Boy!! Rocky wanna go on a road trip… well, you get the picture.


Inquisitive by nature, he is always interested in what other people are doing. He was raised with children in his previous home so he would be extra gentle with your little ones or will happily engage with older children.


Rocky has quite the resume when it comes to experience with other animals. He's been around large dogs and small dogs and has always been the gentleman. Cats, horses and just recently, chickens! His submissive nature allows him to get along with everyone.


Currently in our foster program, Rocky is living it up in a home with two other Shepherds and two cats as well. And as happy as he is being around other animals, he would be equally content being the only animal in the home. GSGSR does not adopt outside the immediate New Jersey area. We may consider adoption locations bordering New Jersey and parts of Staten Island.


We DO NOT do long distance adoptions because we do home visits prior to the dog going to its new home.


The age requirement for adoption is 25 to 70 years old.


We require all adopters attend professional training with their adopted dog.


We are an all volunteer organization and every effort is made to proceed as efficiently as possible with an application. As with all rescues, we do require veterinary references if you have a pet, personal reference, a phone interview and home visit. This process has been created to insure that we match each applicant with the best possible dog.
