Kameron~ Fighting to Survive American Eskimo Dog Mix South Bend, IN

It was love at first sight when one of our volunteers spotted Kameron at a shelter in Indianapolis. Kameron was surrendered to the shelter when her owners moved and did not want to take her along. Poor Kameron didn't know what she did wrong and why she was in such a scary place. Kameron is an older girl, probably around 7 or 8 years old and the shelter is no place for a senior dog. Kameron was quite overweight when she came to us, weighing in at 57 pounds! Kameron is working on getting the weight down and has lost close to 20 pounds since coming to Heartland. We have learned that another contributing factor to her weight is that she has an underactive thyroid. Kameron is on medication for this and will need to remain on that. It's an inexpensive pill that she takes once a day. Kameron is a super sweet girl who prefers to just be a couch potato. She gets along fine with other dogs, will chase cats and loves people. Poor Kameron has been through a lot with us (pneumonia, heartworm treatment) and while Kameron will never be a hundred percent healthy, she deserves a home to call her own. Kameron is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, on heartworm prevention and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $75.
