Meet Moose

When the going gets tough, Moose wants to crawl up into your lap and bury his face.

He's seen his fair share of hard times. Back in April 2010, Moose came to BAPBR after being abandoned in a foreclosed home, then went to living in a hotel with a different family, then kicked out of the hotel due to breed discrimination to living in a car 24/7 all alone, that's when BAPBR saved Moose and got him into foster care. In September of 2010, Moose was adopted by a family, but he is now facing homelessness again in January 2011 due to his adopters unforeseen circumstances.

Even though he's been a little down on his luck, he still sees the best in everyone he meets. Moose positively loves all people. Moose loves going for walks and flushing squirrels out of the yard.

But one thing Moose doesn't care much for are pushy dogs. Moose would do best in a home with a calm, appropriate female dog(small or large) or as the only pet. No cats. Moose is about 4 years old and weighs about 80 lbs.

Moose says, "I did not ask to be born, I am a good dog, I may not be perfect but I do deserve a wonderful life, to have a loving home and if you 'save' mine, I will 'complete' yours!"

Moose's adoption fee is $150. The adoption fee includes: altering, AVID microchip and registration (a $20 value), initial vaccines, copy of medical vet records/history, dewormed, flea treated, collar, front clip walking harness, leash, Patricia McConnell's new book: “Love Has No Age Limit”, small bag of grain-free kibble, and plenty of post adoption support.

BAPBR adoption guidelines:

No same-sex pit bull terrier type dog pairings.

Same-sex adoptions with other breeds will be considered on a case-by-case basis, though not preferred.

Indoor homes only – we do not adopt out “outdoor” dogs or “guard” dogs.

Please note that adoption applicants must own their own home. A BAPBR representative will conduct a home check. There will be no exceptions made to this rule, due to the frequent restrictions on apartments, and rental homes.

I am looking for a leader who will keep up my training, and always show me boundaries and consistency. This will ensure that I keep giving my breed a good name. Our personalities are energetic, loyal, intelligent, fun loving, and affectionate. We require intelligent, responsible, and dedicated leadership. Because of our undeserved negative media image, human companions living with Pit Bull Terrier type dogs have to be more careful and responsible than the average human dog companion.

"To the world you may be just one person, but to a dog you are the world."

"No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich."
