Name/Nicknames: Tips, Tip, Tippy

My Story: I was part of an unwanted litter in Southern MN. My dad was a lab and my mom was half pit bull, half shar pei, so that has given me a unique mixture of DNA! There were five other puppies in my litter and I am one of the shyest and smallest of the bunch- but also the cuddliest! After sitting in a foster home in Southern MN for several weeks without getting adopted, I came up to the big city to find my forever home!

Hobbies: Chewing on toys, wrestling, and frequent naps

Commands/Tricks: I am so smart! I learned how to sit in only 2 days and how to stay in about 4 hours. As of right now I know how to sit, stay, come, and I know my name! I'll hold a stay for about 2 minutes before I just need to move - pretty good for a guy my age!

Crate / Potty Trained:Crate training: I am crated for 6 hours during the day on weekdays and overnight. Some days I cry a little at first but most days I am ok with the crate. I am mostly potty trained- I know it is naughty to go potty inside but I still have an accident once every couple days.


Activity Level: Medium. For a puppy I am fairly docile- with that said, I am a puppy and need someone who will help me get out my puppy energy!

Fun things I do: I am a fairly quiet dog with a calm disposition. I look more like a lab but have the stubborn personality of the bully breeds in my DNA; I am not as much of a people pleaser as my littermates. I love food, so training has been really easy for my foster mom!

Socialization/who I currently live with: I currently live with two adult female humans and two adult male dogs; a 75 pound Australian Shepherd and 25 pound Pug/Rat Terrier.

My Ideal Family: So far I am on my way to being a wonderful ‘breed ambassador.’ To ensure that this is the case when I am much bigger I would really like a family who is willing to take me through classes and teach me all the obedience lessons I will need to be a great community member. Also, I LOVE following my big foster brothers around and mimicking them - a family with another dog would be great! Although not a deal breaker...




Tipper is attending Pet Haven's medium/large dog adoption events and his adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
