Meet Phantom
Phantom is a 6 year old FIV (Feline Aids) positive cat. This means that he needs to be your only cat unless you are planning to, or already have other FIV positive cats. FIV can't be passed on to dogs.
Phantom lives in a special room at the shelter with 2 other male cats and 3 females, all of which are FIV Positive. He loves his roommates and his human caretakers a lot. Phantom is the number one greeter in the room, but our FIV Room is full of very outgoing kitties. Phantom is a loveable black teddy bear, always rubbing around your legs, just waiting for you to sit down so he can get in your lap and give you tons of hugs and kisses.
Phantom originally came to us from the Fort Knox Stray Animal Facility, but he did have a home for almost 2 years until very recently, when bad luck that had nothing to do with him, saw Phantom returned to ARC. Once again, if you don’t have any other cats at home, or you need an FIV Positive companion for one you have at home, then please call or stop by our shelter. We want nothing more than to see our Leukemia or AIDS cats find their forever homes, where they have the chance to be individually loved by their own family, just like any other cat.
Please consider stopping by and giving Phantom or another kitty that chance. Special rates may be offered if interested in adopting more than one FIV Positive cat. He really likes his roommates and would be great in your home by himself, or with a friend. Feline AIDS cats should be INDOORS ONLY and if you have another cat they should be Feline AIDS positive as well.
Adoption Fees: $60 for Cats, $85 for Dogs
All our pets are spayed, neutered, and up-to-date on all shots. Our dogs have been tested and are presently on Heartworm prevention. The Animal Refuge Center has these and many more pets waiting for a good home. Note: The Animal Refuge Center has a "No-Declaw" policy. Our cats are too old to be declawed without risk of serious behavioral problems.
