Meet Luna

From Luna's former foster home:
"Luna is a super sweet and friendly girl who loves every person she meets!  She is crate trained and housebroken though I crate her when I'm not there.  She loves toys but will dig out squeekers effeciently so generally I give her rope toys or hard chewies.  Luna and my cat are best friends and they will play together.  My cat LOVES it but then, my cat is weird.  She leaves my foster cats alone after saying hello (at which point they make it clear that they do not want to play). When Luna first came to stay with me she was absolutely terrified of my dogs who are large and unobtrusive (they aren't even interested in sniffing her for pete's sake!).  It took her two weeks to not be scared of them.  Now she desperately wants to play with them and plays wonderfully with the only dog in my household that will give her the time of day.  I have had her around several other dogs and while she is not aggressive, she has ZERO clue on how appropriately to introduce herself to a new dog.  Her approach is to stalk and then body tackle a new dog.  If she can't do that she will whine and cry and carry on.  To the casual observer it would look like aggression.  It is all play but 99.9% of dogs have no tolerance for such an introduction and it will easily result in a fight.  So she is good with dogs and enjoys their companionship but if you have a dog we will have to figure out a way to introduce them appropriately.  Luna loves loves loves people and cannot help but ask for attention- she will follow you around with interest to see what you are doing and she gives excellent kisses.  I am working on the "off!" command with her as she sometimes jumps on you when she gets excited.  Keep this in mind if you have young children as she may be small but she is mighty and sometimes her nails hurt when they rake you.  She has been around children as young as two years of age and is very patient with them and lets them hang all over her.  So with young kids, she is good natured and patient but may knock them over when feeling frisky.  Just supervise her around children.  She will chase tennis balls and does a pretty good job of bringing them back to you but she is not obessive about it and tires of the game after about a dozen tosses."
The APL does not adopt out dogs for the purpos of guarding/protection or to be outdoor only dogs (aka "yard dogs").  She needs to be an indoor/house dog but that is where she is happiest anyway.  She would love to have a backyard to hang out in IF YOU ARE THERE WITH HER.  She has no interest in being outside all day long by herself.  Please note that the Animal Protection League requires a complete police background check on all adults in an adoptive family`s household for this dog.
