Meet ASLAN

Aslan came to us from a family who was not able to care for him. He
is a big boy, at 117 lbs and he is UNDER weight! Due to the conditions
he came from, he had to be shaved down. He does have a bit of food
aggression with other dogs but not with people. He lacks muscle tone in his hind legs but with exercise and good nutrition this can be addressed. He sometimes will sit in a chair like a human; butt in the chair and feet on the floor. He could care less about cats. He is doing well walking on a leash and is OK with being kenneled in a large kennel for several hours at a time. He has some fear issues such as buses, trucks, vacuum cleaners, thunderstorms and fireworks. He is very sad when left alone and will make a mournful cry. He is starved for love and affection. He just wants to be with his people, hugged and kissed and cuddled. If you have a big heart for a big boy then this is your guy! He is waiting to hear from you soon!

UPDATE:Aslan is doing well. He would be fine in a home with other dogs as long as the dogs were not an assertive breed. Aslan does seem to want to be top dog and can get aggressive around food, but we think some of the aggression comes from the fact that my dogs can be assertive too.I think it is imperative for whomever adopts Aslan to know that he is an excessive barker and because his bark is so deep, the adopter will need much patience, easy going neighbors and maybe a set of ear plugs on standby. He is super loving and is just looking for a best friend to bond with. He wants to be with people all the time and is most content when he can catch a nap in the presence of his people. He does not like loud booms.fireworks, trucks, motorcycles or birds landing in his backyard.Rather then cower he runs around and goes on a barking tirade. This issues could be addressed and worked with.
