My Story: I came from a shelter in a rural part of Iowa

Hobbies: Gigi enjoys belly rubs, bouncing around the house, giving kisses and playing with chew toys. Gigi is a mix of Chihuahua and Rat Terrier, possessing the best traits of both! Her Chihuahua side makes her quick, affectionate and prone to forming an intense bond with her owner. (Imagine how difficult it must have been for such a loyal companion to be abandoned!) Meanwhile, her Rat Terrier background makes her playful, intelligent and lively. A perfect combination, really. She loves everyone she meets!


Commands/Tricks: Sit, lay down, come, down. She is very smart and eager to please, so with a little work she could learn many more tricks!

Crate / Potty Trained: She loves to be near her humans so she does not LOVE her crate, but she will calm down after a little wimpering. She is potty trained too!

Activity Level: High- Gigi loves to play and be entertained. Given some exercise and attention, she will be a great addition to your family. She'd even make a great apartment dog, as long as she gets in her daily walk.

Fun things I do: I roll over for belly rubs as soon as you walk through the door! I love to jump, and do it pretty well...maybe you could do some agility with me!!

Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with one adult and two other terriers

Notes from foster family: All Gigi really needs is a new best friend. She wants nothing more than to follow you from room to room, sit on your lap while you watch TV, and play fetch with you. She's also extremely athletic and fast, which along with her other traits makes her a perfect candidate for agility training. So whether you're looking for a sweet dog to keep you company or a smart dog to keep you busy, Gigi fits the bill!

GiGi is attending Pet Haven's small dog adoption events and her adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
