Panda - VIDEOS Domestic Short Hair Maple Ridge, BC

Panda is a character! The first thing we noticed about him was the most amazing aqua-coloured eyes. The next thing we learned about him was that he didn't like us! In his new-cat cage, Panda was always lively and curious but very defensive if we got near him. We hoped he'd settle and we kept him in his new-cat cage longer than usual so he wouldn't disappear into hiding and refuse our help if he ever needed it. After a while, he was still defiant but he was eating well so we let him loose in the communal room. What happened next astounded us. Panda immediately became our very best friend. He changed from a little pugilist with an intense gaze to a nuzzling love sponge (still with an intense gaze). We had to laugh. As soon as we went into his room, his stout, black-and-white form would appear at our feet. He glued himself to our sides and reached eagerly into any caresses he could coax from us, dancing on his hind feet to reach higher into our hands. There wasn't even a hint of defiance left. If he bumped into any of his roommates, he backed away rather than risk trouble. Otherwise, the other cats didn't concern him. His focus was on adoring us. So we have a round, sturdy, black-and-white boy who has a passionate nature and wears his heart on his sleeve. We're just glad he's passionately adoring now instead of passionately defiant. Panda has FIV (similar to human HIV) so he'll need to be indoor-only and be an only cat or live with other FIV+ cats. This character would no doubt enrich life in a new home immeasurably.
