Sable Coonhound & Beagle Mix Albuquerque, NM

Sable went on an incredible journey to get to us! She was in a shelter in NC and wasn't considered adoptable because she was heartworm positive. We saw her sweet face and agreed to take her into All Ears. Two tries at transporting her fell through; on the second try she escaped in NJ and we were scared we'd never see her again! Luckily and with the help of some amazing volunteers, she was returned to our care and safely completed the rest of her journey to join us out West!


Sable can be a bit shy at first when placed in a new situation, but quickly warms up to everyone. Sable is fine around children. She gets along great with other dogs and loves to wrestle and play. Based on her distinctive howl, she's certainly got Coonhound in her. We think she may also have Beagle or Basset mixed in.


Sable is happy to find a corner to call her own, and she'll spend a lot of the day just hanging out there, but if there are hugs to be given, or food!, she's right there asking for attention.


Sable needs monthly heartworm preventative medication, but she's otherwise healthy. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots.
