Meet Piedmont
Piedmont was born 06/12/2006 and surrendered to the shelter as his owners were moving and could not take him.
Piedmont came to us knowing how to sit, speak and the beginnings of a very nice heal. Piedmont has a lower exercise requirement and while he'd enjoy daily walks, he'd simply prefer time with his owner even more. It's evident that his previous owners worked hard on his commands, however Piedmont needs some work on his socializing. Piedmont is a shy guy that will take time to warm up and bond to his new family. He will do a lipcurl at strangers and people manhandling him, however he would never bite. Therefore he would do best in a quiet home that can work on socializing him and getting him comfortable with strangers. Piedmont cannot go to a home with young children but wouldn't mind dog savvy older children or those visiting occassionally with supervison. As shy as Piedmont can be initially, at the shelter he's made tremendous progress and now wags his tail and nuzzles with the staff.
If other dogs are in the household a proper dog introduction should be scheduled as he does well with some dogs and prefers to avoid the company of others. Piedmont does well with the felines at the shelter as he'll sniff them and then walk away. Piedmont is crate trained but are not sure if he is house broken.
Adoption Information:
Adoption clinics are held every Saturday from 10am – 2pm at PetsMart, 2216 E. Springs Drive. Most of our available dogs can be visited at that time. If you have an approved application, an appointment may be made to meet a dog at a different time. Our dogs have all been spay/neuter, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. We take care of any veterinary care prior to adoption. We offer a $50 rebate to adopters who complete a training class and send in proof of completion within 4 months of adoption.

Adult Dogs (over 1 year of age) - $238
