HERO Golden Retriever & Chow Chow Mix Wilmington, NC

Hero is approximately 2 years old and was found as a stray. He was taken into our rescue recently and despite the happy look on his face in these pics, Hero had a variety of medical problems including, 3 decayed molars that had to be extracted, erlichiosis from exposure to brown tick and heartworm disease. Hero has started his preheartworm treatment and our rescue is in desperate need of funds to continue his medical care. Please help us heal Hero with a donation to :

Hero is doing quite well in his foster home. He is housebreaking well, crate training well and learning basic leash commands. He appears shy around new dogs and people but warms up quickly. He so wants to please and is a gentle and sweet as they come. He so loves gentle human contact and aims to please. He is quick to learn. He will not be ready for adoption till heartworm treatment is complete.

4/1/11 Hero is finished with heartworm treatment and ready to go. He is sweet, gentle giant and he does well with most other dogs.

2-12-12 Hero is doing well and gets along best with female dogs. He is really desperately wanting a family of his own. He is a very handsome boy and loves hi people.

6-30-12 Hero is great but is really needing a "furever" family. He is around 3-4 years old now and weight around 65#. He is good with docile females and some docile males. He is a beautiful dog and so deserves a committed family.
