Meet WINSTON

Adorable, gentle and playful.

The tiny dog was running with his female buddy down the median of one of the busiest boulevards in Houston. He was so badly matted that when we scooped him up, we had to rush him to an emergency Sunday grooming which a kind soul donated to the poor little guy. Fortunately, he was heart worm negative! His worst problem was a bad hip injury for which he had to have surgery. Although he is recovering well and improving every day, he is not yet fully using his leg.

Meet Winston. But beware! The briefest glance at this adorable Yorkshire terrier will put you in peril of falling hopelessly head over heels in love with him. You could lose your heart to him forever! He is a chocolate bon-bon. He is a dollop of honey. He is irresistible!

Winston is sweet, gentle and mild. Snuggly and cuddly, he loves to climb onto a friendly lap and take a little nap. He gets along really well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. Little Winston is very good with cats. He wants to play with them, but is respectful and cautious in his approach. The cats he met were not interested, though, and ignored his friendly efforts!

Because he is tiny and fragile, Winston would do best in a home without very young children. It would be wise to treat him with the same respect and consideration you would give a German Shepherd Dog or a Great Dane! Although he looks like one, he is not an ornament or a toy. He is a real dog and would greatly benefit from being treated as such.

At 2 years old (11/2010), he weighs a whopping 4.5 lbs. Surprisingly, he is not yet housebroken (which speaks volumes about any possible previous owner), but we are working on that and he is making progress. Patience required. Although slowly coming out of his shell, he tends to be a little timid, so a positive training method with lots of praise and encouragement is the best approach in teaching him house rules and commands.

We are betting there will be a great deal of interest in this gorgeous little dog, so if you are interested in making him a member of your loving family, do not hesitate in taking action as speed is of the essence!

Winston's adoption fee is $250.00. If you are interested in adopting Winston, please contact us at (832) 265-6523 or CorridorRescue@gmail.com or visit our website to download an adoption application at: www.CorridorRescue.org and email or mail it back to us. Thank you!
