We are still looking for a home for Cili, a 75 lb pitbull mix, one of the dogs rescued from Hurricane Katrina 5 years ago. The person adopting Cili
would received a $532 two-weeks training course for Cili at "A Canine Experience" in Snohomish, WA, where Cili would be boarded for the initial training. Cili has been spayed and is up-to-date on her shots. Cili would need time to adjust to other dogs and once she knows them she just loves to play. We don't think she would be good with cats or small dogs. She is people friendly but takes time to warm up to a change. The scars on her are not from fighting but from the sores had when she was roaming without food following Hurricane Katrina. She needs a fenced yard, an experienced
dog person and we will only adopt her to someone in the State of Washington. A home visit is required.
NOTES:
Volunteer Openings:
1. Work with the dogs Saturday afternoons and any day of the week from 10:30-12:30 pm - cleaning, walking and training dogs.
2. Help with our low income food bank - have a table outside a supermarket or pet store to bring in food.
3. Carpentry, electric, handperson or any specialty service plus general labor type work.
4. Yard work.
5. Stick labels on envelopes, working out of your own home.
6. Foster a dog or cat. Cats must be inside only.
Dogs must have fenced yard.
7. Donation of used cars.
8. Items or services for our twice-yearly dinner/auctions for tax write-off.
9. Cleaning and socialization of cats a the shelter.
