Abby *RETIRED Mastiff Mix Richmond, VA

Abby is doing well again. She is eating and putting on weight. She now weighs a very healthy 155 pounds! She looks fantastic. She's feeling much better. She is also graduating from obedience school! Her foster parents are working wonders for her!





July 26: Abby was diagnosed with severe Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She has already started treatment but still doesn't want to eat. Except watermelon. She loves watermelon. She is being treated through VRCC but needs help to keep going. Anything you can donate, would help her a lot. Thank you!



July 22. Abby had GI tests today that showed significant findings. The vets are thinking she has either Inflammatory Bowel Disease or Lymphoma. Her small intestines are very abnormal looking. She has really enlarged lymph nodes. Esophagus was fine until you get to where it connects to the stomach (that was a concern her foster mom had because Abby doesn't like to eat sometimes, and she prefers stuff cold). She's down to 114 pounds. The vet sent off a biopsy and they are putting a rush on it since she has lost so much weight and refuses to eat. Poor Abby. Her fosters wanted to go get her and bring her back home, right now in the middle of the night.




July 10 update: Abby isn't feeling well. She has been seen by the vet twice but is now needing to see a specialist. Something is wrong and we're trying to figure out what's going on with her. If you would like to help with Abby's bills, we would greatly appreciate it. We don't know how much her tests will cost yet. We just want her well again and back to being the goofy sweet girl we came to know and love. Pease help us, help her.

Hi, I'm Abby. I'm a sweet, energetic 135 lb English Mastiff. I was born in 2004 but I act more like an adolescent Mastiff. I love to run around the yard and play with squeaky toys. I am a goofy girl and real silly. I love people, especially men. Yep, I'm a daddy's girl. I'd do best in a home with no small kids. I love big dogs and I really like to play with them. I tend to think small dogs are toys for me to play with, so I shouldn't be homed with them, or with cats. I'm looking for a family who has some Mastiff experience.
