Meet Lucky

Arrival story: Lucky came to us when his time was up at a rural shelter. Approximate age / weight: ~ 6 years young and 48 pounds Personality: Hi, my name is Lucky. And that’s an appropriate name for me since I am so lucky to be in a rescue instead of being in a loud, scary shelter or worse. I was so scared there that I couldn’t even stand up to have my picture taken. My foster mom isn’t sure how I got here and I know she wishes that I could tell her. But I can show her what a good boy I am.

So far I’ve shown her that I’m housebroken, I’m great with cats, I don’t chew on anything, and I’m generally a happy boy. My foster mom thinks I’m ok with other dogs, but I seem to be a little afraid of the dog next door.

They think I’m about six years old and I’m in great shape. I am the most adorable blend of husky and beagle that you’ve ever seen, or so I’m told. Not that I think there are many husky/beagle dogs out there. I’ve got the shorter legs and soft floppy ears of a beagle and the coloring of a husky.

When I come into a new situation, I hug the ground until I know it’s a safe place. Then my tail doesn’t stop wagging. I could be the waggiest tailing dog in the world! Most of the time I hang out where I can see my foster mom, and if I get a pig's ear or rawhide bone, I get so happy! Otherwise, I am super quiet. I’ve only barked once!
Forever home: If I could pick my perfect home I would like to live with someone who is home a lot, so I can be with my people. I don’t really care if you have any cats, and I’m probably fine with other dogs if they are calm. A fenced in yard would be wonderful so I can run around and sniff everything. I will give you all the love in the world if you can share some of yours with me.
