Colin Airedale Terrier & German Shepherd Dog Mix Springfield, IL

Colin is an older Airedale/possibly German shepherd mixed-breed fellow who should be an ambassador for senior dogs! He came to Illinois Humane as a New Hope dog, rescued from animal control. He was weak-heartworm-positive, but has finished both treatments for heartworm and is feeling oh so much better!
Colin is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on shots and looking for loving, appreciative folks to spend his time with. This handsome, friendly fellow is about 7 years old
He needs a training collar for walking as he is very strong and we don’t think he’s done much with the early part of his life except sit and move around a yard someplace without a lot of interaction. He is very good with other dogs and thoroughly enjoy visiting a nursing home with some Illinois Humane volunteers.
Colin is used to the crate, but he really doesn’t like it and his foster dad has been confining him to limited spaces in the house when he is away and that has worked fine.
