Giving thanks for my adopted dogs that are a big part of the family
Thu, Nov 28
Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on the joy that my pets have brought to my life.
My family is very grateful to be spending the upcoming holiday with our two dogs, Brewsky and Toby. We rescued them separately, but they instantly became "brothers." My husband and I felt so strongly that our dogs were such an important part of our lives that, when we got married, Brewsky and Toby walked down the aisle as our ring bearers.
We are very thankful that they have served as "big brothers" to over 65 other dogs that we have fostered. Brewsky and Toby have helped our fosters with basic training and certainly learning to simply enjoy the warmth and comfort of a loving home. When we welcomed our first daughter into our home, Brewsky and Toby immediately bonded with her. During the first few weeks after bringing our daughter home, Brewsky would run over to her as soon as she made a sound and would come running over to me or my husband to make sure we were attending to her needs. We are so fortunate that our daughter already seems to share our great love for dogs. Every time we are in the car and on our way home, if we ask our daughter who we are going to see, she quickly responds, "Brew and Toby", with a big smile on her face. My family would not be complete without Brewsky and Toby. We couldn't be more grateful for all the happy memories that they have already given us and are looking forward to many more.
Tell us: What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving?
