Our Mission
The mission of the Finger Lakes SPCA is to protect and provide for the well-being of the animals committed to our care, and to seek new forever homes for them. We are dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and companion animal overpopulation. We seek to strengthen and support the human-animal bond through education about the humane treatment of all animals and such programs as a pet food pantry and low cost spay/neuter for cats. We are committed to the practice of a no kill shelter.
Adoption Policy
We encourage people to fill out an application first and have a conversation with one of our adoption counselors before choosing a pet, as we seek to find the best possible fit. We generally ask for a meet and greet if a household is adopting a dog into a home where another dog or dogs are present. There is no set time for the process to take. We try to make it as quick as possible while achieving the best fit possible.
