Our Mission

Our vision for K-9 Freekz Dog Rescue is to save dogs all sizes and breeds by placing them in a loving foster home until adoption. We are an all volunteer, foster home based 501c3 certified rescue licensed in the state of Nebraska, established in May 2014.

K-9 Freekz is committed to providing all dogs that come through the rescue with the best possible care while waiting for their forever home. We strive to acclimate them to life outside of abuse they may have suffered, neglect, a shelter environment, and/or abandonment. We offer the best vet care, with all dogs being spayed/neutered, UTD on all shots and microchipped when ready for adoption.

Adoption Policy

Applicant is to complete the application. Once received, the applicant is notified that their application is being processed. The rescue does vet checks on all current, and recent past dogs to ensure the dog(s) is UTD on all vaccinations, is altered, on preventatives, and see if vet has any concerns of applicant adopting a rescue dog. The rescue also does personal reference checks (asking for 3 NON family references), as well as home checks. Once the applicant is approved, a meet and greet is coordinated so the potential dog can meet the applicant, their family (if applicable) and other resident animals (if applicable). If everyone is comfortable to move forward, the dog may go home with applicant for a 2 week adoption trial. If there are any major issues during this time (unknown allergies, resident animal not taking to new dog, or vice versa), the dog is returned to the rescue and the adoption fee is refunded.
