Companion Parrots Re-Homed (CPR)
Adoption Policy
Adopters must agree to the following:
Contribute an adoption fee
Not breed the parrot
Keep the parrot in a 100% smoke free environment
Not take the parrot outdoors unrestrained (must use cage or harness)
Not allow parrot to interact with other pets unless a bird of similar size
Provide an annual veterinary examination by a CPR approved avian veterinarian
Feed a well-rounded diet of high quality pellet, fresh vegetables and fruit, grains and nuts
Allow follow up home visits as needed
To keep CPR informed of current email address, physical address and phone number
To notify CPR immediately if parrot is lost or stolen and make every effort to locate the parrot
Contact CPR immediately if for any reason the parrot cannot remain in my/our custody to discuss arrangements. The parrot will not be sold, adopted, or given to another party
Adopters pay an adoption fee, which helps to offset the costs of medical exams, treatment, food and supplies. Adoption fees range from $25 to $400.
CPR reserves the right to decline to place a bird in any home that it does not feel would be a good match.
Adopted birds may not be sold, given away, bred or used for any type of monetary purpose.
