Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, caring for and placing homeless animals. We promote positive people/animal relationships through our adoption and educational programs advocating humane treatment of all animals, including the importance of spaying and neutering. Some of the animals that come to Rescued Tails are older, sick or have suffered from severe neglect or cruelty. We value the life of each companion animal and provide a permanent safe haven for animals when possible. We work to rehabilitate companion animals that need additional training and time and then place them in appropriate homes.
Our organization is located in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, and in the Twin Cities Metro and surrounding areas of Minnesota. We also participate in a foster dog program at the Rush City Correctional Facility called Rush to Rescue.
Welcoming a pet into your home is a commitment of time, patience, money and love. You should think very carefully and do your research before adopting any animal. Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary spays / neuters all companion animals before adoption. All animals are vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested (dogs), feline leukemia tested (cats) and microchipped. If you find an animal that you are interested in on our web site please call, or e-mail us, and we will gladly tell you more about that special animal. Our experienced volunteers will help you select a companion animal that will fit your personality and lifestyle. We want you to experience a rewarding, lifetime relationship with your new companion. If you find a furry friend you wish to adopt, you will fill out an adoption application and send it back to us. We will then process your application and a home visit will be set up. At the time of adoption you will fill out an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
