Transforming the neglected, abused, unwanted and abandoned into the loved, sheltered, happy and content
Dear Prospective Applicant,
At RASA we take exceptional care of every animal in our rescue. We pride ourselves on upholding our motto “Transforming the neglected, abused, unwanted and abandoned into the loved, sheltered, happy and content”. In some cases this means it take months of patient interactions with our rescues to help them overcome whatever they have been through. Each animal is given its own personalized regiment to maximize rehabilitation. We truly take the time to get to know these beautiful animals.
This is why our adoption process is very thorough and careful in selection. We want to make sure the forever home is right for the individual animal as well as the animal you choose is right for you. Our process includes:
? Application – you can find our application on our website. Please be thorough and complete. A partial application will delay the adoption process.
? Education – Our volunteers/fosters will go over proper care for the animal you have chosen. You will learn about that specific animal and their background. The volunteer/foster will make sure you understand the needs of your prospective new family member.
? Home Visit – A volunteer will visit your home to see where you plan on housing and caring for the animal. We are not there to judge your home or pry into your personal life. We simply want to see how you plan on housing the animal and make suggestions if needed on safety and care of the animal.
? Approval/Adoption – Once you are approved we will complete the adoption process and you will take your new family member home.
? Follow Up – After you have had a bit of time to adjust to your new family member and they have had a moment to adjust to their new home you will be contacted by a volunteer. This is to make certain you are happy with your new family member and that there are no outstanding concerns.
Throughout the process and long after we are here for any concerns or questions you may have. We are committed to the LIFETIME care of these animals and will do anything to assist you in making their years happy and healthy ones!
We thank you for your interest and look forward to working with you through this process.
